The management center (120 thousand square metres) will aim to define new ways of experiencing work time and urban space, in the name of new environmental challenges. The buildings will be organized around a central street and three squares, revisiting the Mediterranean urban model. The ground floor, open to the city, will host a variety of functions and services for everyone: an auditorium, shops, cafes and restaurants, a spa, a fitness center, a church, a nursery, a school complex, a library and a artistic space. The buildings have a wood and steel structure and stone facades, coming from the various quarries in the region. The layout and orientation of the buildings were designed according to the direction of the winds, providing natural cooling. The project's sensitivity to environmental sustainability determined the landscape project and the choice of plant essences, which contribute to mitigating the heat island phenomenon. On the sixth floor of the complex, the "New Horizon" is a hanging garden, from which you can enjoy an exceptional view of the sea and the Sicilian mountains. The Management Center is designed to be a quiet and accessible place, with flexible work spaces and meeting places for the Region's employees, large terraces, cafes and refreshment points, to welcome all citizens.
